Session 9 - Eric Wehrli: Experimental and computational approaches to language and linguistics

The field of computational linguistics has witnessed major developments over the last few years, in particular with respect to empirical approaches --which exploit ever larger corpora -- but also with respect to the variety of languages and language families taken into consideration.

In line with the themes and the objectives of the Congress, this session is open to all the major topics of computational linguistics, with particular emphasis on attempts to combine symbolic and statistical approaches (hybrid models), in the classical subdomains of linguistics (lexicology/lexicography, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, psycholinguistics, etc.). Papers on computational models of linguistic theories are also welcome, as are computational linguistic applications.
